Yvonne Commodore-Mensah, PhD, MHS, RN  
Principal Investigator

Serves as the contact PI and is responsible for the overall conduct of the study. Oversees the research staff and practice training, data collection, analysis, and dissemination work with Dr. Himmelfarb.

What do you do to keep your heart healthy? 
​"I play ping-pong!"

As Co-Principal Investigator of the study, Dr. Himmelfarb is jointly responsible for the overall conduct of the trial. She jointly oversees the research staff and practice training, data collection, analysis, and dissemination work with Dr. Commodore-Mensah and leads study participants recruitment.

Pharmacist 

Collaborates with Linked-Hearts study participants and their providers on comprehensive medication management and adherence, inclining medication access and affordability.

What do you do to keep your heart healthy? 
​"I stay heart healthy by taking daily urban hikes through the city with my husband and our lab/pit mix, Houston; walking anywhere from 2 miles to 12 miles in a day!"

Yuling Chen, PhD, RN
Post Doc Fellow ​

Collaborates with the research team to carry out an array of activities, including research, scholarship, and conference presentations. Learns leadership through research protocols, data management, and analysis; preparation of manuscripts, grant proposals, and conference presentations; and leadership of interdisciplinary research groups to develop, implement, and evaluate theory-driven strategies to reduce cardiovascular health disparities.

What do you do to keep your heart healthy?
​"To keep my heart healthy, I aim to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night!"

What do you do to keep your heart healthy?
"To keep my heart healthy, I take my HTN medication and have some form of physical activity at least 3 days a week: yoga, dancing, walking, and meditation."

"I aim to get enough sleep each night and stay hydrated, which is essential to supporting my heart function."

"To keep my heart healthy, I prioritize regular exercise, maintain a balanced diet, manage stress through relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga, and ensure I get enough quality sleep each night."
